Derek Billingsley, co-owner of MVP’s Sports Bar & Grill in Jasper has made a donation to the J.H. Rowe Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, and the organization has reciprocated by donating a framed image from a long ago sports team.
Billingsley donated $1,500.00 to the scholarship fund which, each year, assists deserving high school seniors as they make their way to college. The donation was accepted by Rowe Alumni Board President Joe Clyde Adams and Board Member Willie King.
Meanwhile, King donated to MVP’s a framed color photo of the 1962-63 Rowe basketball team. Billingsley said he would be looking for a good place in the sports themed business to hang the photo among all of the other local sports memorabilia.

As the “Official Spirit of a Grateful Nation,” Heroes Vodka is committed to honoring all Heroes who serve, protect and perform outstanding work in our communities.
Heroes Vodka was founded in 2009 by Travis McVey, a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran who proudly served as a Presidential Honor Guard from 1989-1992. An innovative and determined entrepreneur, Travis endured the life-changing tragedy of a good friend dying in combat in the War Against Terror in Afghanistan. The experience paved the way for Travis to realize the American dream of owning a business, a business that would enable him to continue to serve his country. Travis’s vision was to develop a brand to partner with well-known Veteran organizations. His mission was to help Veterans get the care they deserve. With Heroes Vodka, Travis’s dream has become a reality.
MVPs proudly serves Leadslingers Thin Blue Line Whiskey. This special edition of Leadslingers Bourbon whiskey raises money for the families of the fallen officers.
